Natural History museum - Day 52
6:20 PM

I'm pretty sure the Natural History Museum was a field trip when i was in elementary school but i bet i was more concerned in which cute boy i was going to sit next to on the bus rather than the animal bones mounted to the wall but, Balboa Park is filled with museum's to toddle around and view some fascinating things.

Batting cage - Day 51
6:19 PM

Yes, i know i have to work on my stance!-maybe that's why i was only able to hit every third ball, and even that is an exaggeration. The batting cages look fun but i think i left more frustrated than anything. Even slow pitch is FAST! i wanted to throw my bat at the person pitching me the balls and then i remembered it is a machine and that wasn't gonna help me anyway! I did like the helmet though!

Rock climbing - Day 50
7:42 AM

This picture makes me look cool!!! BUT what this picture doesn't show is me whining and complaining all the way up the wall, i think i reached my limit on the phrase "i can't" for the whole year. It also doesn't show that i could only climb a wall and a half before screaming,  falling off and giving up cause my hands were shaking so bad. Rock climbing was the hardest workout ever!! i guess I'm lacking upper body strength or something! I'm not gonna be able to give up that easy, I'm sure ill go again soon.

Cabrillo National Monument - Day 49
7:41 AM

A nice little walk with a view of Hotel Del and all of the coast in Coronado made for a great morning with my BFF! We got to climb up a light house, climb on the rocks visit her grandfather who is buried there and give him kisses on Christmas Eve,  and just enjoy the sun!

I had NO idea this place was here.

Pennies - Day 48
7:41 AM

The Lincoln Room- A bar in downtown San Diego where the actual bar is covered in a layer of pennies! A unique menu and pleasurable environment-The trick is to talk the bartender into giving you a free drink if you find the year you were born! Good luck!

"Howdy Partner" - Day 47
9:19 PM

Line Dancing lessons at Incahoots in Mission Valley....So much fun!

Every night (except Monday's) starting at 6:30pm they have dance lessons for free! I have been wanting to do this for a really long time so, last night my sister and I put on our boots and headed over there.
The first dance we learned was the Jose Quevo. Pretty simple instructions; step to the left, step over, step behind, a skip hop, step to the right, over, behind, SPIN, three step twirl, stomp, walk, ANOTHER skip hop kick thing, spin and....i think you get the point- It was hard, hence the reason i couldn't look up for the pictures or i would have stepped on my own feet, fell and threw off the whole line of dancers.
The second dance was the Jitterbug Swing. This one you needed a partner for, my sister and i had all intentions on being each others partners, she was going to be the boy cause she is taller but we got swooped up pretty fast. My 21 year old cowboy seem to know what he was doing so i just  followed his lead, he said "turn" i turn, he said "spin" i spin!
Lots of fun and a little bit of a work out. My sister and i agreed we would attempt again in the near future.

Tamale Making - Day 46
9:19 AM

A traditional Mexican food; Tamale's are made of  this dough like corn MUSH called masa, then is steamed for about an hour in a corn husk- leaf wrapper. Only i would ask if you eat the corn paper- the answer is NO, of course, you take it off before eating. Tamales can be filled with meats, cheese,  vegetables, peppers or any other "surprises" your heart desires.

Tamales were fun to cook mostly because it was a hands on activity. And they were pretty tasty too.

Fresh Squeezed Vitamin C - Day 45
9:11 AM

First we picked the oranges from the tree, washed them off and went to town juicing them by hand. Not only did they smell and taste delicious but, they accompanied our Champagne and Tequila very nicely throughout the rest of the day! I think i got more than my recommended daily dose of vitamins C.

GOT NOG? - Day 44
2:01 PM

Milk, cream, sugar and eggs, all blended into into one cup. Its sweet when it hits your lips but leaves a gross after taste. And to be honest it wasn't that bad, i have obviously had worse but the smell is what got me. NO BUENO. I'm down to try it again but with some kind of Brandy or Rum or ANYTHING along those lines!

Soup Du Jour - Day 43
3:47 PM

My new favorite soup- Pozole! First i had it at The Waterfront made with pork and then again at my friends mom's house with chicken. Both were scrumptious. Although the meat is typically my favorite part of any meal, this time i was in love with the little corn pieces- Harmony. I'm now going to be that annoying girl who asks her waiter what's the soup of the day?

Cowles Mountain - Day 42
3:21 PM

Cowles Mountain- a pretty simple hike only 1.5 miles to the top where there is a 360-degree panorama of San Diego County. The view was beautiful the company was great and my calves got a good workout. Pretty awesome way to start a Saturday with your best buddy!

BiCE Ristorante -Day 41
3:20 PM

I must have been starving or something because everything was amazing. The cheese appetizer, the steak the pasta's-ALL of it just melted in my mouth. I seriously think I’m going to have dreams about that meal. The ambiance was just as nice. Positively in the top 3 of the nicest restaurants i have ever been too.

Art Show - Day 40
2:10 PM

My first ART/FASHION show was out of the ordinary to say the least! I'm still not sure which was more interesting to look at; the Art or the crowd?! Artists don't seem to just decorate a canvas, their choice in clothing also seems to make a statement.

There were times i even felt under dressed and the rest of the time i felt over dressed mainly due to the fact that my top wasn't see-though like the models! But a few bucks for a few nipples, some great art and one cross-dresser...i'd say it was worth it :)

Girl Beer - Day 39
1:35 PM

On Ladies Night out we all tried Framboise which is a Belgian lambic beer that is fermented using raspberries. Men are always trying to get us ladies drunk; "put fruit in the beer and then they will drink it!" It reminds me of one of my favorite candies-sour patch kids! It was sweet at first and then left a tart taste in your mouth, almost making me want to drink more...TRICKERIES! But i liked it!

"Free Shot Of Tequila?" - Day 38
4:07 PM

I Finally left the country!!! Mexico was not far up on my list of places to visit but it turned out to be a very enjoyable and delicious experience.

Crossing the border and entering Mexico was the easy part. And once you get past Tijuana it was actually a beautiful drive. Some of us seem to think the beautiful coast of San Diego just ends...and then there's Mexico, well it doesn't, it keeps going.

Puerto Nuevo is where we went for lunch or should i say lunch & dinner for a week... we had lobster for days! It was beyond good, even writing this blog entry is making me crave it again.
After lunch we walked around where everyone tried to get me to buy a Hello-Kitty bracelet and when they could see i was not interested in those they started offering the FREE shots of tequila...EVERYWHERE! Even drunk i wouldn't want one of those bracelets! Geez Amigos!

Not sure if it was the lobster, the company or simply the all day adventure but, I think this as been one of my favorite "firsts".  Getting out of my comfort zone is becoming easier and easier everyday.

Real "Animal Style" - Day 37
4:05 PM

Kangaroo meat is high in protein and low in fat...at least that's what the Internet says.

To me, meat is meat, i like it ALL and i like it ALL better than vegetables. So i will definitely try a Kangaroo burger when given the chance. It actually tasted just like a traditional burger little more blan than a cow would, hence the reason they probably served it with horseradish sauce then classic ketchup and, the texture was slightly different but my burger from Downunder was a delicious 'first'.

Disc Golf - Day 36
5:34 PM

A sport i didn't think existed nor thought i would ever play. It's as if GOLF, FRISBEE and DISCUS THROWING had a baby! You have a Frisbee shapped plastic disc you throw around a course similar to in golf, attempting to get it in a metal basket half way across the park.

A little tricky and a little skill and you will probably pick it up on hole 17...(out of 18). And you don't get any points for hitting the trees!!

I started to feel it in my throwing arm around hole 3 :)...but, I would play again only because its outdoors, fun, free and not nearly as frustrating as golf.

Tis The Season - Day 35
5:23 PM

We see them every year! we HEAR them every year and we probably never give anything.

What does one dollar really do for us?? -not nearly as much as it can do for someone else!

Tis' the season.

Vietnamese Coffee - Day 34
12:47 PM

Ca phe da or Vietnamese coffee is made with finely ground dark roast coffee individually brewed with a small metal French drip filter into a cup containing about a quarter to a half as much sweetened condensed milk, stirred and poured over ice.
I'm not a huge coffee drinker so i don't have many references to compare it to but, all-in-all it was good. The most interesting part was that it was prepared at the table right in front of you.

A New Day, A New Bar - Day 31, 32, & 33
12:31 PM

Day 31 -
The Neighborhood: It was a very cute yet small bar. They had tons of beers on draft and really good sweet potato fries. I’m pretty sure i will be making an excuse to go back frequently because the menu looked pretty damn tasty and not to mention the hidden bar with in The Neighborhood, which led me to the next bar....

Day 32 -
Nobel Experiment: Hidden within The Neighborhood is a FREAKEN" AMAZING bar. The atmosphere is dark and relaxed, mainly because they don't allow the bar to ever get over crowded. You have to have a reservation to even sit at the bar. The bartenders know what they are doing and they have an unmatchable drink list. Anthony was our bartender for the evening, i wouldn’t trade him for anything, he knows what he is doing behind the bar 100%.  I went with  the 'rattle snake' for my first drink, made with egg white and absinthe, for those of you reading my blog, i felt it was very fitting... not to mention it was very strong "thank you Anthony".
I recommend this place a million times over and if you go i recommend you invite me :)

Day 33 -
Dublin Square: Thanks to fourSquare, pretty awesome happy hour prices and Jameson this place was pretty cool; "spend $10 get $10 off" - can't beat that deal anywhere, especially on Sunday Funday when the Chargers are playing. And you can never go wrong cheersing randoms at the bar.

Chinese Wedding - Day 31
3:46 PM

It was a very unique wedding with not one but TWO dancing dragons. I have never experienced a Chinese wedding before so I'm not sure what the meaning is behind the dragons but the tradition was a fun one to watch. Very interesting to say the least. If i start dating a Chinese man my friends better start practicing their best moves cause not only will i be looking for bridesmaids but i will also be looking for dragon dancers!!!

Mussels - Day 30
11:46 AM

Although it was a similar texture, the Mussels were way better than the oysters. I'm not sure what it was, maybe it was the sauce the mussels were bathed in or maybe it was my mood that evening...or maybe, JUST MAYBE my little taste buds are growing up because, I liked them.

We ordered the mussels at a little bar called Starlite Bar off India Street. A very unique atmosphere and kind of an odd place to order them but, as soon as my partner-in-crime saw them on the menu there was no stopping him. He had a feeling i have yet to try them and he was not going to let me get away with it. And I’m glad he didn't. I honestly enjoyed the squishy, kinda chewy, wannabe meat.

Extraordinary Desserts - Day 29
11:07 AM

The most delicious day yet! Extraordinary is an understatement for these desserts. First of all it’s so hard to pick just one; and yes you have to pick just one AND share, because they are huge, but they all look so freaken' amazing it’s next to impossible.

If you’re not a fruit fan they have chocolate desserts galore. If you not a chocolate fan like myself then they have tons of fruity pastries and that's exactly what we went with; a warm cobbler filled with tons of mixed berries and a crust that was to die for which ended up being our favorite part. To top it all off it came with a scoop of their recommended ice cream...Brown sugar Vanilla Bean- YUMMMMM!!

I think i found my weakness!
