Road trips as a kid were easy- Mom drives you sleep! Even the few road trips I have taken as an adult have been fairly simple…Road trips to Vegas - short, fun and if you have a small car, you’re still not the one doing the driving.
So this year I decided to join my friend on a REAL ROAD TRIP. We went from Montana to Chicago, about a 2 day drive where I learned a lot about my body, the lack of jokes I know, and the one thing I truly depend on when on a road trip.
First of all I’m not 18 anymore, so staying up all night or 24 hours straight is not for me. Probably one of the hardest and worst things I have done to my body. I instantly got sick and felt like crap for a few days. But now I know I can do it if I HAD to. But there were some good times…
Second-there are only so many jokes and or life stories you can tell someone before you start repeating yourself! And turning to prank phone calls is also good entertainment but it gets real awkward when they start calling you back!
Last but not least when on a road trip make sure you have a phone charger and that the outlet in the car works because when your iPhone dies in the middle of nowhere you are screwed. Unfortunately like most people have become dependent on that damn glass phone! As I always say “you’re only as smart as you iPhone” not only are you lost because you can’t ask Seri where you are but you also can’t call your mom for help or locate the nearest 24 hour Wal-Mart to charge your phone!
